Mixing alcohol, energy drinks popular trend
Experts say the combination is dangerous.

University of Notre Dame student Belan Molina said she and her friends have heard about possible negative effects of mixing alcohol and energy drinks, but they often gather to do just that.
"You have to take (drinking) to another level," she said. "Because a couple of energy drinks will not do that much to you.
"I think it could be a lot worse."
Kelly Lawrence, assistant director of the office of alcohol and drug education at Notre Dame, said the chemicals within alcohol and energy drinks interact to make them a dangerous combination.
