Drinking alcohol is to be banned on London buses and the Underground from next month as part of a New York-style "zero tolerance" approach to crime announced by Boris Johnson
The new mayor of London – whose policies are being monitored by David Cameron for possible adoption by a future Conservative government – said the move was central to his drive to cut crime and reduce anti-social behaviour across the capital.
