SMART Recovery UK
Daily Dose - Feb 26, 2007
SMART Recovery UK is a rapidly developing organisation which supports
individuals who want to abstain from any type of addictive behaviour. SMART
(Self Management and Recovery Training) offers free face-to-face and online
mutual help groups and is underpinned by a 4 point programme that uses tools
and techniques based on scientific evidence. Peer support and self-help are
key elements in SMART’s approach.
In order to formally launch its work in the UK, SMART Recovery is hosting
two international conferences in Glasgow and Birmingham on 2nd and 4th May
2007 respectively. These events will give those working in all aspects of
addictions in the UK the opportunity to hear internationally-renowned
speakers from the USA, Australia and Switzerland present new, exciting
approaches to addiction and recovery. Speakers include Dr Linda Sobell, and
special guest, John Sinclair.
