News Release - Committee to hold series of meetings in attempt to control flow of alcohol and drugs into Nunatsiavut

A special committee appointed by the Nunatsiavut Assembly to develop an action plan to deal with a variety of social issues will hold a series of meetings in coming weeks in attempt to control the flow of alcohol and drugs into Labrador Inuit communities.
The Alcohol and Drug Hearings Committee, which was established in 2006, met earlier this month to discuss and prioritize nearly 200 recommendations brought forward during ommunity hearings held in Labrador Inuit communities, North West River and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
