Just two drinks a day can increase the risk of heart disease, study shows

Just two alcoholic drinks a day is enough significantly increase the risk of high blood pressure and heart disease, a new study shows.


Researchers found that women who had two drinks a day had a higher chance of developing the conditions, which are among the biggest killers in Britain.

Men who had three drinks a day were also at the same increased risk.

Scientists found that those who were drinking small amounts on a regular basis were more likely to be at risk of a serious health condition called metabolic syndrome.
